The Movies

So any one who knows me knows that I love my movies…take them very seriously…
Relished the Oscars this year. Woke up Monday morning to watch them live (I live a sad life) getting only three hours of sleep, slept at 2:30am.

Sunday morning was living an aimless existence, when Go 92.5 was running an Oscar contest, He read out some lines and you had to guess the movie and answer via sms.
The universe was on leave, it being Sunday and all…and so I won.
I got 2 Tickets to Inox, Oscar movie of my choice…. Thank you Go…
Now someone get me a date and a life and I’m set.
I think a date comprising, dinner and a movie is the definitive date, but that’s another post.

As I was saying I take movies very seriously. Here’s a list of quirky things I do when it comes to movies.

This is a Cardinal rule: No Talking in the theater (sorry Nessa)
I hate it; absolutely hate it when someone does this. It’s the main reasons I have quit going to the theater. It breaks my heart to watch movies on a 21-inch screen.

I save the tickets from the movies I go to. (I’m sentimental and it sucks)

Read and also have a whole bunch of books on movies and moviemaking, also read movie trivia on imdb.com

Have a collection of movie scripts.

Own a growing collection of Hitchcock movies.

Never read movie reviews.

Okay so now I shall stop here…I just read the list back to myself and I am nowhere near as eccentric as I though I was…turns out I’m just plain pathetic.

This does not bode well for me in the matters of getting that date.
Will someone please drag me into the street and shoot me.

That comment was not appreciated...
As for the filmmaking,I think its one of the most brilliant things a person can do.
Art,music, music, poetry what are they but all forms of storytelling.

Robert Altman at this years oscars said of filmmaking "It really is exactly like building sand castles You get a bunch of friends and you go down to the beach and you work your ass off and you build this big castle and you finish and you go up and sit on the edge of the shore and you drink your beer and you watch the tide come in and take it away.”(his production company is called Sandcastle 5)

hello there.

i must say;

i HATE people who talk through a movie; i go absolutely starkers and chuck things at them until they SHUT UP.

i never read movie reviews because i'd much rather interpret it myself.

i always keep movie stubs too. :$

you're not all that weird after all, love. and if you think you are then perhaps we should start a club?

I know exactly how you feel when there's a ruckus in the theatre and all you want to do is listen to the celluloid whispers...
It's a shame people have no social manners.
And it kills my day when someone i know is sitting next to me and going on like a chatterbox while watching a film.

Shucks

i love my movies too... earlier.. i mean back home... my ovies were dictated by compan.. at least the ones in the theater... never went alone... i have now actually seen about 15 movies alone in a theater... out of which in wallace and gromit i was actually the only person in the WHOLE theater... kinda liberating... feeling the movie was plang on a huge screen just for me...
